Check deviantart for "sai like brushes for clip" or something, then download and peep those, that's where I'd start, good luck!
It's way more in depth here for sure but still not as in depth as Painter and i used to tweak the brush settings endless there to get my desired results to my personal tastes but I understand the headache of processing all this info and trial and error can be very frustrating. So my suggestion, not knowing the actual answer is to just suggest doing something like that yourself and compare someone elses brush settings to the default brushes to see what exactly was changed to get the result, and that should open some eyes in the process. I just moved to Clip from a lifetime of using Sai and I get exactly what you're saying, when it comes time for me to solve this for myself what I'm going to do is download an inking brush pack from somewhere for Clip and reverse engineer it to find out how they got the brushes to work as I will be expecting them work. I feel more like I'm trying to find a formula than I am drawing. However in Clip it feels much more "digital" and less like drawing on paper. So if you draw overlapping squiggles with the marker tool in SAI it'll match the opacity. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong but I'm so frustrated with this program not feeling as intuitive as SAI?Īlso I like to use the marker tool in SAI for line art occasionally because the marker tool has the ability to match the opacity in a single stroke (kind of like the darken ability on Clip). But when I try to make such a stroke I get such hideously dark and thick lines? Then when I try to adjust for less opacity it's as if it only makes the lines gray? the | | lines that rest on top of the cupid's bow should be fine and delicate. When the line is too dark, the lines appear too harsh and too vector? There isn't enough organic feel to the strokes and I don't feel as if it's picking up my delicate pressure I'm using to create fine details? Like if I were to draw a nose and lips, the fine lines I'd to make between the nose and the lips. I want my pen to have size and opacity pen pressure but no matter how much I tweak the settings it seems the line is either too dark or too transparent. I'm used to using Paint Tool SAI and that program was quite simple for its brush settings - you could easily capture the brush settings in single screenshot.Ĭlip has a much bigger learning curve and I'm having difficulties making a line art brush.
